Do stress riser cracks need repairing?

Stress riser cracks arise from the manufacturing process and result when excess resin pools in an area from the compressive forces not being uniform. This resin pool without carbon fibre in the matrix fails under the flexing forces that occur in normal riding.

The cracks come through to the surface of the paint because paint has little flex after being a year old.  Such cracks are annoying visual distractions and do not compromise the structural integrity of the frame.  Should a growth in the size of the cracks occur then inspection is recommended.
