The crack in my frame just looks like a paint crack, does it need to be repaired?

it is typically cosmetic only, so it is your choice if you want it repaired. Water and dirt can ingress over time degrading the paint and outer layer. Stress riser cracks arise from the manufacturing process and result when excess resin pools in an area from the compressive forces not being uniform. This resin pool without carbon fibre in the matrix fails under the flexing forces that occur in normal riding.  The cracks come through to the surface of the paint because paint has little flex after being a year old.  These cracks are annoying visual distractions and do not compromise the structural integrity of the frame.  Should a growth in the size of the cracks occur then inspection is recommended.
